Foreigner-friendly
'Foreigner-friendly' means the clinic built infrastructure for visitors: interpreters, English booking channels, foreign-card payment, aftercare you can read. All of that is real and worth something. What the label does not promise is a price tier, a quality tier, or the experience the clinic's regulars get. Knowing exactly what you're buying is the whole game.
Language: staff or interpreters who work in English. Logistics: booking without a Korean phone number, foreign payment, sometimes pickup. Paperwork: consent forms and aftercare you can actually read. These are genuine services with genuine costs.
It is self-declared marketing, not a certification. It says nothing about which doctor treats you, nothing about price, and nothing about outcomes. A clinic can be superbly friendly and quote you entirely from the visitor menu; the two are not in tension — they are the same business decision.
The friendly tier tends to sell the visitor way: bundled programs, "next available" scheduling, follow-up that ends with your flight. Convenient, in English, and structured for someone who is never coming back. The structure: same clinics, different menus.
Not an unfriendly clinic — a different door into possibly the same one: an introduction from a regular, the itemized local menu, a named doctor's hours, and — if you want her there on the day — someone in the room who has sat in that chair before. What that costs and how it works: the mechanics.
Honestly: sometimes. If your priority is a smooth week in English with minimum logistics, the visitor tier is built for you and does its job well. This site's argument is narrower than "avoid it" — it is that you should know the tier exists, know which one you are being quoted from, and know that the local menu is what the same treatment costs the people who live here.
This page describes a marketing label and the service tier around it. No clinic is named, none is rated, and "tends to" means exactly that: a pattern, not a rule about any particular clinic. Last checked: 30 July 2026.
